PortXpert is a technology start-up that digitizes and standardizes the port’s inspections and clearance protocols.
Each shipping container needs to be inspected in order for it to carry and transport goods. PortXpert aims to digitize the process and maintain records in real-time of each particular shipping container on a database that is easily accessible for the clearance agents and the port’s authority.

Current Process
Currently, the container inspections are conducted by multiple service providers, physically, at various locations like the port or parking areas. These inspections are tedious and are paper-based operations. Clearing and approval of the inspection at these stages are done via phone calls or WhatsApp, which opens the door to human error, delays, miscommunication, and ultimately no back office oversight of these approvals.
Expected Change
With PortXpert, inspections can be conducted remotely by the Drivers and Port Inspectors via the mobile app and submitted to the back office team for review. Approvals and instructions are on the app itself and all records are stored digitally, with no need for communication via third-party applications or methods. Drivers can get an appointment slot for container drop-off, which reduces the queues and hassle at the port.
